Healthy Holiday Cocktails

Healthy Holiday Cocktails

The holiday season is in full swing, and what better way to celebrate than with some Healthy Holiday Cocktails? These drinks take “fancy” to a whole other level. Think cold-pressed ginger juice, turmeric, fresh beets … have I got you hooked yet? These recipes do require a juicer, but you can totally WOW your guests by prepping the ingredients beforehand.

Sidenote: you can totally make any of these drinks virgin. I have enjoyed them myself with zero alcohol and they are still deeeelish!

I’ve teamed up with Zevia to bring you these delicious holiday cocktails to show you how easy it is to be a little healthier over the holidays! I am really excited to work with Zevia because I love how everything is free of sugar, additives, caramel colouring or any artificial flavourings. They really are such a great alternative to conventional sugary sodas!

Now lets getting pouring and show everyone the real cocktail goddess you are…!

Grapefruit & Ginger Greyhound

This one is my absolute favourite! It’s refreshing, tart and almost too easy to drink.

What you’ll need for 1 drink:

  • 1 oz. of Zevia Ginger Ale
  • The juice of 1 grapefruit
  • The juice of 2 inches of fresh ginger
  • 1 oz. of good quality vodka

Shake the grapefruit juice, ginger and vodka with ice. Strain the grapefruit mixture into a martini glass (without the ice) and top it off with the ginger ale. Garnish with a fresh grapefruit slice and enjoy!

Turmeric Tequila Mimosa

A classic, with a twist. Turmeric is super anti-inflammatory so it’s a good balance. This would be paired nicely with brunch or by the fireplace.

What you’ll need for 1 drink:

  • 1 oz. of cold-pressed turmeric juice
  • 100ml of cold-pressed carrot juice, or orange juice – both work nicely.
  • 0.5 oz. of good quality gold tequila
  • 1 oz. of Zevia Ginger Ale or Tonic Water
  • A shake of powdered turmeric, a mandarin orange slice and a twist for decoration.

Pour the turmeric, carrot juice and tequila into a champagne flute. Top off with Zevia ginger ale or tonic water. Add a shake of powdered turmeric, a mandarin orange slice and an orange twist for decoration! Pairs nicely with an arugula and mandarin salad or tofu scramble.

Winter Red Sangria

Warming and comforting, alas – a Wintertime sangria! Dark, fruity flavours make this drink perfect après-ski.

What you’ll need for 2 drinks:

  • 1/2 cup of organic red wine of your choice
  • 1/4 cup of Zevia Ginger Ale or Zevia Tonic Water if you don’t want it too sweet
  • 1/4 cup of Zevia Black Cherry Soda
  • 1/4 cup of cold-pressed beet juice (about 2-3 beets, juiced)
  • 3 limes, juiced plus 2 more for decoration, sliced
  • 2 tbsp of fresh pomegranate seeds

Mix everything in a jug until nicely combined. Top with ice and enjoy, taking in all of the rich and deep fruity flavours!

This post was sponsored by Zevia. All opinions are my own, as always. I had a lot of fun making these cocktails – thank you Zevia!
