This Simple Green Juice Recipe is the original no-nonsense, delicious and cleansing juice it was born to be. It contains very simple ingredients; just apples, cucumber, kale, lemon, and ginger. These ingredients are often accessible year-round, especially where I come from (Vancouver), so it should be easy to pick them up at your local farmer’s market. In fact, most of the ingredients you could even grow yourself! Kale grows like crazy in the winter and if you have an apple tree then you’re in luck.

This juice is really cleansing and helps your mind feel clear. You will actually feel the sensation of nutrients being delivered to your body. This is my go-to juice when me or my family is sick, feeling run-down or just in need of an energy boost. The lemon helps the digestive system and relieves bloating, constipation, etc. The peel of a lemon has also been said to have cancer-fighting properties. Cucumber is extremely hydrating and the apples are jam-packed with Vitamin C. Ginger is your #1 immunity-boosting pal. And of course, we all know and love our friend Kale which has tons of iron (iron helps deliver oxygen to your cells), so yay for this Simple Green Juice recipe! Energizing Detox Juice

This deliciously sweet & tart green juice will make your taste buds feel alive and fill your body with loads of energy!

  1. 1/2 of a large cucumber (use the whole one if serving 2 people or if you want an extra large glass!)
  2. 3 apples (I like 2 red, 1 green), cored
  3. 1 lemon, with half of the rind
  4. 5 stalks kale (one small head of kale)
  5. 1 inch of ginger
  1. Wash all of your vegetables and fruit.
  2. Cut up all of the vegetables in small chunks so they will fit through your juicer nicely.
  3. Put all of the ingredients through the juicer.
  4. Serve fresh, preferably in a chilled glass.
  1. For best results, use organic produce, a cold-pressed juicer and drink the juice within 15 minutes of making it!
